Have you seen the 183 spot lately? I loved that spot, when there a lot last year though it was mostly dry. They are building a new extension to 183A Toll road and have dammed up half the river and it is totally weird.

I’ve went kayaking a couple of times on the river with a kid from the Big Brothers program. A lot of fun. Go to the bridge area at 183 just past Leander before you get to Seward Junction where there is an old original bridge and on the bank amongst the brush is usually a waterfall.

Have been trying to find a detailed physical map on the San Gabriel for more kayak/historic exploring. Haven’t found it yet. Do have the Land of Good Water book, a good one detailing the history of Williamson County and the river.
